Engine stall in test Hill

So today it took me a few tries to get up test Hill, there was a line that was just really loose. Seemed like others had trouble as well. A few times I got almost there before the engine stalled almost at the top. Is this something to be concerned about? Was it just the vehicle stopping me from hurting it? Was it the angle I was at? Was I stupid to keep trying?

I know my bronco is made for this kind of stuff, but I’m new to it all, and used to driving cars that would have fallen apart in the entrance into the park. So I’m super paranoid to break it

Also she bucked pretty good in some of those spots where the sand has wavy. She drives smooth, and the alignment seems fine, no strange noises. That should mean I’m ok, right? Anything I should check?

Doesn’t seem out of sorts to me. I’m pretty “gentle” on mine off road and even I’ve stalled it (I have an M7 though) and banged the underbody on some things.

When I went to the Off-Rodeo, they beat those things like rented mules and they were fine. I was shocked how much abuse it could take, made me less “gentle” but only a little, it is still mine to fix.

after doing some research, i think i figured out both the reason the engine stalled, and why i was having trouble getting to the top of the hill…essentially, forgot that even in baja mode i still had to press and hold the traction control button to fully disable it. traction control, from what i understand, will kill the engine if it just cant find any traffic, that way we dont burn out our engines trying to get through something it thinks we cant.

so, had i turned off TCS, i would have been able to reach the top of the hill, and my engine would not have stalled out either.

so far, everyting was totally normal on my drive all the way back to ann arbor. no leaks that i saw under it leaving the hotel. ive got a post offroading checklist im going to go through this weekend to make sure everything checks out. but i have to say, sammy went through A LOT this weekend, and a few weeks ago at holly oaks, and has done an amazing job of shaking it off.

I think it’s normal. I have run mine at the dunes and don’t remember stalling, but it happens.
