Tablet Mount and Tablet for GPS

Keeping with my cheap solutions theme, I finally added a tablet and mount for GPS. The phone/display works pretty well with OnX (better than GAIA and Car Play for sure) but I still wanted to be able to use my phone as a camera on rides. Adding a tablet lets me have a dedicated GPS, use my phone and have the external camera running all at once. The Tablet is. basic 9" LENOVO Android device that was on sale for $99 . It includes GPS sensors so I will try it without an external antenna. Garmin makes a Bluetooth compatible antenna that’s about $100, if I decide the internal GPS isn’t accurate enough. I got the mount from Amazon for $20.

I will post a review after I get some time with the set up.

Interesting, it’s sturdy enough not to bounce around? Also doesn’t intrude on passenger space? Looks functional, none the less.

Did ya have to lose the handle grip? LOL.

Just kidding. I know mine has been used at least 5 times, so..

It looks really nice. This a tablet, or dedicated GPS thingy?

It’s a tablet with GPS capability. (Most have built in GPS). I did loose my grab handle (basically useless anyway) and it does intrude slightly to the passenger space. I tried it myself and it would not really bother me, so for my wife or other passengers it shouldn’t be a problem. I can easily collapse the mount on a long trip with a passenger as well. The mount seems very sturdy and I made it as short as possible to mind minimize the leverage of the tablet. I’m interested to see how it does on the trail, but so far, so good.

Looks like a nice setup. Like to hear how the GPS works out.

So far so good. I used it last weekend and had my son as a passenger. He didn’t mind it, but did hit it a couple of times getting in and out. It’s nice having the mapping and front camera working at the same time. At this point, it’s a great $150 accessory
