I see some people do it, and it looks nuts to me unless they all have mgv, and the washout interior, which i dont. i REALLY want to go topless at silver lake in a few weeks. its gonna fill my interior up with sand isnt it?
Yes
yea, i kind of figured as such. i need to be rich so i can have two broncos, and one is just to beat the shit out of, and the other is to keep nice.
Yea, I drive around the summer with tube doors and the roof open all the time, but I won’t go off roading unless the car is locked down tight, even then sand gets everywhere. I have sand that still comes out of places from last summer. If you off-road with everything open you might as well just accept the car is perma dirty.
Thats why I have a Bronco. enjoy it topless doors off as well as top & doors on. Takes a little time to clean up sometimes, but well worth the fun.
tube doors look so cool, and fun, but im super worried i would drop my phone, or wallet out on a highway somewhere.
I took out the back panels of my soft-top at the beginning of summer and have not yet put them back in.
That top goes down every chance I can…
I like taking my front panels off occasionally, but I have not found conditions off road where I want to be topless long. It’s mostly the bugs, I long ago accepted the scrapes, scratches and dirt that come with MI off orad travel, but I get there are tons of ways to Bronco!
i bought a thermacell at the beginning of the summer, and i think it may be my new way to deal with bugs. every time im outdoors i use it, and im pretty sure ive gotten less bites this summer than any time in the past. might be worth checking out.
same on top off as much as possible. i work from home, but if i have to drive to a site, i take my old honda because i dont want to put the miles on my bronco doing work stuff. yesterday though, it was nice out, so top off. 45 minutes each way of back road driving, tunes cranked, enjoying summer. stopped at a state park and pulled out the tailgate to eat lunch (BLT and a slice of banana cream pie) and enjoy the view of the lake.
…i grew up in texas where i dreaded summer, its 5 months of hell. in michigan though, i love summer, and the bronco has made it exponentially more fun. LOVE my bronco. lid off for life!
I just don’t use my left pockets.
I did it once, down in Tenn. with just the front panels off (2 door). It covered the interior with dust.
All of this!!! I have my front panels off and my windows down for most of my off-roading. Definitely takes extra time to clean up, but the experience is worth it!!!
im serisouly considering taking the front two off next weekend. im gonna test this weekend to see if i can fit the panels with the rest of my gear.
